Q: Can I restore a backup to a different folder structure?
A: Yes.
When restoring, BmuS recreates the relative structure. If you restore to /tmp/restore, the file originally located at /etc/pihole/setupVars.conf will appear at /tmp/restore/etc/pihole/setupVars.conf. This prevents BmuS from accidentally overwriting your live system files. You can verify the files in the restore folder before manually moving them to their live location.
